The winner of our Lenten Limerick Contest is Annabel Meyer. Congratulations!
Here is the award winning entry:
This Lent I have seen so much grace,
eating fish as I run life's race.
And so now that Lent's done,
I sure hope I have won
that chocolate the size of my face!
Judges Comments: "Humorous, metaphorical, references antiquity's notion of "running the race" of life, and it scans properly as a limerick."
Honorable Mentions: Margaux R., Mary Mc., Aaron L., Isaiah W., Joseph P., Violet M., and Noel M.
Special Thanks to Mr. Henebry for acting as judge.
Look for the contest to return next year, with several age brackets. In the meantime, keep poetically considering fishes!
Good job everyone, but especially Annabelle! I just knew you were going to win once I read your limerick because it was so good!
You deserve a cookie.

No it's about one foot, and it's flat on one side.
That's still really big!
